I say, go for it! What better way to celebrate your wedding day than in a different country with close family and friends.....with warm sand running through your toes ....what could be better?
As you can imagine making this choice of venue has it's complications. The planning needs to be done carefully. Considering all you have to get done, the sooner you start planning the better. To make life easier, I suggest hiring a professional to assist in the preparations. A wedding planner could be invaluable at a time like this. I know several and would be pleased to recommend some. It's also very important to remember that your chosen destination may have very different weather conditions than we have here in Toronto and the GTA. You need to consider what type of look you want and how you will create that look on your wedding day.
Now, you could always hire a makeup artist and take them with you! (I'm always available for exotic weddings!!!) :) But it's much more practical to learn what you need to know prior to your wedding day so that you can create the look you want with ease and little pressure. Do consider a makeup lesson (or a series of them if you like) prior to your wedding day. This will give you the confidence you need in applying the right look plus it provides you the skills to take that look and play with it.
It is also be a good idea to look into a personal makeup shopping package so that you can purchase the products you need for your exotic wedding with a professional. The advantage to shopping with a pro makeup artist is that you not only get the exact products you require but they will work for you on your wedding day and throughout your honeymoon and beyond. Who better to help you pick the right products that assist in shine control and/or longevity and are camera friendly than a professional!
