How do you get the bride’s skin to look so smooth?
More often than not I use airbrush to apply foundation on my brides. My brides love it! I use a few types of foundations in my airbrush but I do love, love, love my silicone based foundations, in particular my Temptu foundations.
They leave a matte but dewy look that is gorgeous on your wedding day! When I’m doing traditional makeup application (sponge or brush) I often mix my foundations. Depending on the finish I want on the skin, I may use a cream and thin it down with a light liquid.
I spend a lot of time on skin and blend, blend, blend. I almost always use a very fine milled powder that has a slight yellow base to set the look. It truly looks glorious on the skin and it gives the most beautiful finish to a perfect base.
What do you use to make skin have that sheen?
Depending on my bride’s skin type I will use highlighters. I have several in my kit but I do love my Ben Nye highlighter palette and use it often!
I take a small amount of whatever highlighter will work with my bride’s skin type, warm the product to bring it to the perfect consistency and lightly dap it onto specific area’s of the face. For example, I like highlighting the top of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and just above the upper lip area. (this is a great hint for making your lips appear fuller…you can thank me later!)
As with all cosmetic products it’s important to remember, less is more. Highlighting should be subtle. Blending and mixing foundations is a skill that should be trusted to a true professional.
