0 Heather and Dan's Wedding

As many of you know, I worked in Britain (England and Scotland) for about 5 years before returning home to Canada about a year ago.

Getting from point A to point B in Britain can often times be a struggle but the transportation system in and around the country is pretty good and many people travel by train every day to work. I was no different than the rest and one day I was on my way into Kings Cross (London) for a fashion shoot when I met up with another fellow Canadian also heading into London. Her name was Heather and we instantly hit it off. Heather was freshly out of teacher’s college and was looking for a teaching job in Ontario when the opportunity to teach in England on a year contract came up.

Our friendship was instant. We ended up sitting next to each on the train into London and had a great time talking about our time in England and getting to know each other better. We found out that we didn’t live very far from each other (within walking distance really) and would get together occasionally to meet at the local pub….not that I drink beer (or does she) but a few glasses of white wine here or there was certainly enjoyed! (while in Rome as they say…)

Heather had just started seeing a man named Dan before she moved to England and they kept their romance going strong all the time she was away. It was a special relationship and I could tell even without meeting Dan that he was the one for Heather. Dan came to visit her one time and to my surprise Heather hired me to do her makeup for his arrival. I should mention here that Heather rarely wears a lot of makeup, if any, so I felt very honoured that she trusted me to make her look natural and beautiful for Dan’s arrival.

The school year ended and Heather moved back to Canada and her and Dan settled in Calgary where they both found teaching jobs. A couple of years past and although we didn’t see much of each other, we did keep in touch through emails and phone calls. Finally Heather’s dream came true and Dan proposed! To my delight, Heather hired me again for her engagement party and for her wedding day. She wanted a clean, fresh, natural look for her wedding day.  I must say, I think she glowed!  Heather, who is originally from Kingston, Ontario had her wedding in Kingston this past July. It was a glorious day!
