Asking your girlfriend’s father for his daughter’s hand in marriage is a traditional and still often used gesture. For Alec Babiarz, it took an unexpected turn and Ashley first learned of her engagement by her Father’s congratulatory phone call. Alec’s quick wit helped him make the best of the situation and he still managed to surprise her a week later at 6am with a ring-adorned Lily. Ashley began planning her wedding day and focused on incorporating family touches throughout. Her husband’s childhood backyard was a natural choice and set the perfect stage for this casually elegant affair.
