2013 Bridal Makeup Trends

I know it's only halfway through 2012 but I'm already getting lots of brides booking for 2013 weddings.  Taking that into consideration this week's blog is all about upcoming bridal makeup trends for 2013.  I've broken it down into 3 categories. Which one inspires you the most?

The All New "No Makeup -Makeup Look"

2013 brings a new twist to the no makeup-makeup look. (better known as the nude look) Emphasis is put on the skin so that the skin appears flawless yet also appears to be bare or minimal. The knack is to bring out your best facial features with light contouring. Colours are natural and warm with the entire face appearing to be wearing little or no makeup at all. I love this look.  What is unique about 2013's take on the no makeup-makeup look is that there is plenty of makeup on the face but the way it's placed and blended makes it appear bare/nude.  Very clever indeed.

Recommended for...those modern brides who have good skin and good bone structure.

Focus on 1 Feature (not 2 and definitely not 3!)

Do you remember the 80's? Strong eyes, strong lips and well contoured cheeks! Gotta love the 80's. :-)
But those days are long gone.  This 2013 bridal makeup trend is all about concentrating on just 1 feature on the face. So, if you have beautiful eyes that you want to show off then show them off but remember to keep the rest of the face subtle with light nude lips and just barely there blush. If you've been blessed with gorgeous full lips then show them off instead! I love this style of makeup and can imagine many of my brides next year will want this type of look.

Recommended for....those brides who like to wear makeup and want be noticed but also want to keep their look current and modern.

The Unconventional Smoky Eye

I get asked a lot to create a smoky eye. I've written often about this on my blog.  Every smoky eye is different and the possibilities are really endless.  For 2013 put away the blacks and greys! The new trend is all about colour. So if you love the smoky eye effect and want to modernize it for your 2013 wedding then try purples, greens or blues. You can create beautiful "appropriate" looking smoky eyes using colour rather than darker shades like black.

Recommended for....confident brides who love the smoky eye look and who aren't afraid to make a statement.
