Are you one of those women that "shine" instead of "glow?" Is your fear of having your makeup melt halfway through your wedding ceremony causing you stress? Well, you aren't alone!

I know many of my followers/readers are from all over the world - I happen to be based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and summer 2012 in Toronto has been one of the hottest and most humid summers in our history! Controlling oil/sweat on my "wedding" faces this year has been challenging and because of the extreme heat and humidity it's compelled me to find even better innovative products that really work and do what they say they will do even for those brides that suffer with excessive oil control problems.

Embryolisse Hydra Mat

Many women who suffer from oily skin tend to want to avoid moisturizers at all costs. They assume moisturizers will only add more oil to their skin and make the whole problem even worse. The way to ensure your skin is properly prepared for a makeup application is to ensure it's been properly hydrated. Remember oily skin and hydrated skin are 2 very different things. The trick is to find the right moisturizer for your oily skin - one that hydrates without adding to your oily dilemma. Embryolisse has always been a favourite among makeup artists and this particular face cream (Embryolisse Hydra Mat) contains a little bit of corn startch, helping to absorb extra oil that you don't want and adding the hydration you do want. It's a double whammy!

Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray

This product works well! I spray it after I prep the face, before foundation and then again after the makeup is set. 4 'squirts' each time and you're good to go. Combine it with the MAC Blot Powder below and watch the magic happen! A big favourite for summer brides!

MAC Blot Powder

OK, this stuff just works! You got oil to control on your face...this is your new best friend. The trick is to set your foundation by applying this powder using a kabuki type brush and blend it in well. If you use this powder and only use it as you would a regular face powder the effect will not be the same. I love this powder - it's a summer staple for me!
