Nicki Minaj talks "American Idol," Pink Friday fragrance, and more during her appearance on "The View."
Earlier today (September 24), rapper Nicki Minaj made her first ever appearance on ABC’s The View and discussed a number of topics including her new gig as judge on American Idol and her new perfume, Pink Friday. The Queens rapper remained relatively tight-lipped about her role on American Idol, simply stating that “You gotta watch to see,” but did take time to speak on her fellow judges.
“It’s going pretty good. You gotta watch to see,” Minaj revealed in a video posted on HipHop-n-More.com. “Who am I closest with so far? I don’t know. I like all of them actually. I look up to all of them in my own way. Of course, I worked with Mariah very early on in my career. I’m really grateful that she gave me that look very early on and she’s really, really funny. I didn’t know Keith, but I kinda knew Randy through the industry and he’s kinda crazy.”
Minaj also expressed her excitement for her new perfume, which is fittingly titled after her debut album Pink Friday, and is currently available for purchase at select department stores.
“If it’s one thing I could have it would be a pink wig. They were like, ‘really?’ They kinda didn’t want to make me feel bad, but they were like ‘We’ll try. We’ll see what happens.’ And they brought me a sketch of it and I was mesmerized,” said Nicki Minaj in regards to the Pink Friday bottle. “As a little girl growing up in Southside Jamaica, Queens if anyone would have told me that I would have my own perfume one day and be able to inspire young, black girls everywhere to go in a Macy’s or a Nordstrom and see their face staring back at them, I would have never believed it.”
