Being trapped in a dark room in the basement is something nobody ever wants to experience, especially when there’s dolls involved. Picking up right from last week, Jane is stuck in the mysterious room behind the wall in the basement. With only her phone in hand as a source of light, Jane tries to quickly glance around the room to see anyone is there. As she moves a bit away from the door, something grabs her leg causing her to scream out in terror. Fortunately Henry opens the door to rescue her as she immediately run into his arms.
Henry checks over the room after Jane explains why she was screaming, but no one was found. As the two start to leave the basement, a little girl is seen running from the direction of the room and into the basement. Talk about eerie. It’s not the only time Jane sees the little girl today.
Likewise, the episode focuses on resident Annie Morgan, an obituary writer. She’s been having a rough time composing her latest batch of obituaries, but things take a turn for the better after Gavin gets involved (he probably used magic of some sort). I’m not sure what Gavin actually did, but whatever Annie writes ends up becoming reality. Annie did not realize what she could do until she rewrites her mother’s obituary and the clothes she wears instantly become classier. Too bad Annie’s streak of good luck does not last long as magic always has a price. As she works on her next obituary, she lets her imagination run too wild and the killer she writes about comes knocking at her door. Let’s just say Annie did not live happily ever after as she intended to.
Also this week, we find out a little more about what happened to the Dorans’s daughter as well as Gavin’s plan for Henry. Other than that, Brian’s seductive neighbor keeps appearing when least expected. It’s getting a bit stalkerish if you ask me.
The episode ends with Jane once again in the basement after hearing the ringing of a bell. I have no clue why she keeps returning there, but she brings an old suitcase back up to her apartment. It doesn’t look like much, but something moves from within. You shouldn’t have brought up a mysterious object Jane. Don’t you know better!
Final Thoughts: The show gets more complicated as more storylines are added in each week. I’m glad to get a glimpse into the Dorans’s past, but the death of their daughter only adds more mystery. Also, I’m very curious to know why Brian wants to move out of the Drake, but I don’t blame him as his wife’s assistant seems a little crazy. The look in her eyes when Brian kissed Louise at the club made it look like she was going to kill Louise. Let’s hope next week reveals more about the mysterious suitcase. Whatever is in that suitcase seems dangerous, so Jane should leave it lock. Any thoughts?
